About Us

Positive Energy

We are three individuals who work 'in fusion' who came together over lunch to address what we perceive as a problem with the industry: all too often the public are being actively misled.

We believe in fusion in the long term — more than a century hence. But more than that, we believe that as scientists and engineers we should uphold our codes of conduct and codes of ethics; we have a duty to communicate honestly with the public.

The messaging about private fusion is driven by well-funded companies with professional PR departments, amplified by industry bodies (such as the Fusion Industry Association) and cheerleaders (such as Fusion Energy Insights), and reproduced verbatim by journalists who don't have the time to pick apart press releases.

We have often thought that there should be a reasoned voice in the fusion discourse, one that provides a Yang to the industry's Yin. A place where journalists can get well substantiated facts, without having to rely on biased press releases. Now that General Fusion are seeking investment from you, the public, we decided it was time to act. The public need a source of facts, not a stream of bullshit, with which they can make informed investment decisions.

Our Aims

We aim to inform the public about the challenges and realities of fusion energy, not the hype. Naturally, in the short term we will focus on General Fusion as they are going public in the next few months, but our scope is broader.

Over the coming weeks we aim to provide a set of short articles that potential investors can use to help inform their decision making. We will focus on presenting facts substantiated by peer reviewed journal articles, output from fusion companies themselves, or good old-fashioned logic.

Stay tuned as we flesh out our investor resources.

We Need You!

This is a passion project, and we can't do this by ourselves. We need your help.

Share our articles, link to us, tell your friends. Most importantly, if you know someone who is considering investing then share our content with them. Someone is going to be left holding worthless shares, and we don't want it to be you.

We need contributors. Are you:

  • An ex-General Fusion employee with insider knowledge?
  • A current General Fusion employee with a conscience who realises that profiting from your share options makes you complicit in screwing the public?
  • A fusion industry expert with a flair for science communication?

Regardless, we are keen for fact and evidence-based submissions that we can publish (anonymously if you prefer). Articles must accessible to a broad readership, concise, and engaging. Potential topics include safety, technical progress (or lack thereof!), economics, shortcomings of concept, ...
